Smart IT Asset Management for Sustainable Resource Utilization
Abstract
Efficient IT asset management is essential for reducing waste and optimizing resource utilization. This study proposes a machine learning-based solution for tracking, optimizing, and repurposing IT assets across their lifecycle. By integrating clustering and reinforcement learning algorithms, the system provides actionable insights for reusing outdated hardware and minimizing procurement costs. Implementation in an enterprise IT setup reduced resource wastage by 20% and procurement costs by 15%. The findings align with SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, promoting sustainable IT asset practices.
